President - Maria Wardwell (Term expires 2012)
Maria Wardwell has been a member of the Footlight Club since 1983. In addition to her current role as Vice President she has served as Treasurer for the Footlight Club and as a member of the Trustees of Eliot Hall. She considers The Footlight Club her theater “home” and enjoys using the skills she has learned in business to help support the ongoing work of The Footlight Club and the renovations to Eliot Hall. After 15 years at BankBoston, where she held a number of management positions, Maria left to become an Account Executive, Facilitator and Consultant for Wilson Learning/McCourt Associates. Maria is a Cantor and Youth Choir Director at St. John’s the Evangelist Church, in Wellesley and performs in a number of professional and community theatres in the Boston Area. Maria lives in Wellesley, MA with her husband, Sam and sons Nathaniel and Ben.
Vice President - Kristin MacDougall (Term expires 2012)
Kristin has a BA in Fine Arts from Oberlin College (1992). While at Oberlin, she stage managed, produced, costumed and designed sets for campus productions. Most notably she
stage managed an outdoor production of “A Midsummer Nights Dream,” complete with Oberon on stilts, Puck on a wire suspended between two trees (abandoned pre-production, thankfully) and a set that was burned down by local punks. She also co-founded a celebrated but eventually reviled feminist performance art troupe called Pussy in Boots. Kristin fell in love with The Footlight Club in 2001, when she saw her first show: Sweeny Todd, directed by Bill Doscher and Produced by Sandi McDonald. She jumped at the chance to produce the FLC’s production of Psycho Beach Party in 2002, then subsequently produced or worked back stage on as many shows as will have her. Kristin works in Public Affairs for a state environmental agency and as a House Manager for Shear Madness. She lives in Jamaica Plain and is working on her MFA part time, between productions.
