Raised in Pennsylvania, Shannon grew up in a very musical family. She moved to
Massachusetts at age 13 and performed in her first FLC production, George M. Soon after, Shannon's family moved to southern Massachusetts where she continued to perform throughout high school. Shannon studied both Vocal Performance and Theater at UMass Amherst, receiving her B.A. After graduation, Shannon returned to the Boston area and rejoined the Footlight family, volunteering in roles such as stage manager and box office. She performed in several casts, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the 2-woman show Chocolate Cake, and most recently, Annie. She has served on the Board of Directors for both Braintree Choral Society and the FLC, in various roles: Advertising, Treasurer, Box Office and, currently, Volunteers Director. Shannon completed her Master’s degree in Creative Arts and Learning in Elementary Education at Lesley University in 1997, while working full time with Harvard School of Public Health. She taught briefly, and currently works with the Trust Team at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown.
