Celebrating 150 Years of the Footlight Club

A Landmark Season at Eliot Hall

As the lights come up on our historic 150th season this fall, the Footlight Club is planning a year of unforgettable performances and community celebrations. In honor of our monumental milestone as America’s oldest continuously running community theater, we are hosting three signature events alongside our regular season lineup.

Mark your calendars and join us as we honor our past, celebrate our present, and toast to our future!

The 150th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser
Saturday, October 3, 2026

We are kicking off the celebration in style! Dust off your creative cocktail attire for an elegant evening dedicated to supporting the Footlight Club. The night will feature a catered menu, an open bar, and a silent auction where you can bid on unique items and experiences. Adding to the magic, beloved cast members from past productions will return to the Eliot Hall stage to provide live entertainment. It promises to be a fun-filled evening of glamour, nostalgia, and community support.

The Official Birthday Celebration
Sunday, January 3, 2027

Just one day shy of our official founding date on January 4, 1877, we invite you to a cozy, informal birthday party. This relaxed afternoon gathering will shine a spotlight on our rich history. Come explore the legacy of the Footlight Club, share stories of Eliot Hall's storied past, and celebrate our impact on the American theater landscape and the Jamaica Plain community. There will, of course, be cake!

The Footlight Reunion & BBQ
Sunday, June 27, 2027

To close out this historic season, we are opening our doors for a casual reunion dedicated to the heartbeat of our theater: our community. Whether you are a seasoned veteran who trod the boards decades ago, a brand-new volunteer, a member of our brilliant production crews, or a dedicated patron, you are family. Join us for a laid-back, BBQ-style feast, plenty of laughs, and the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. (And yes, rumor has it a karaoke machine will be involved!)
