The Joy Cochran Gallery in Eliot Hall is proud to present:
Our Spring Members Art Show, featuring Elizabeth Bean, Sherilyn Levy, and Bill Shamlian, plus some of our favorite show posters from the last dozen seasons.
- Elizabeth Bean
Elizabeth is a Boston-based photographer. She began her interest in photography in middle school, when she picked up her father’s 35mm Minolta from the 1960s, and he showed her how to use it. While she didn’t pursue a degree in art or photography, she did pursue a part-time profession as a photographer, traveling around New England taking youth sports portraits, and the occasional wedding. She has settled nicely into taking head shots and production photography for the Footlight Club and a few other local theaters, as well as nature photography in her spare time. She has been a member of the Footlight Club since 2008, was quickly elected to the board of directors as their Development Director for a short time, followed by approximately 11 years as the Volunteers Director, then as Vice President, and has been serving as the President of the organization since 2020.
- Sherilyn Levy
Sherilyn has been a FLC member for 45 years. She has acted as costume designer for many shows over that period.
One of the two quilts on display, “In My Lifetime”, is an autobiographical story telling of important events that occurred in her lifetime. Started in an advanced quilting class at the Eliot School, Jamaica Plain MA, it was expanded with three new squares in 2022: Obama, Cell Phones, and Genome.
- Bill Shamlian
Bill has been a member of The Footlight Club for over 25 years. He is a story teller, no matter the media he uses. By day, as an audio professional, he has mic’ed up countless professionals and “names-you-would-know” for just about any media you can think of. In his spare time, he uses a camera to create images that speak without a sound.
- Matt McKee
Matt is proud to have been collaborating with the enthusiastic and creative members of the Footlight Club for the past two and a half decades, creating photography and photo illustrations for over 80 posters. During the day, Matt can be found creating photography for a wide variety of marketers, manufacturers and industries in the Greater Boston area (samples at mckeephotography.com).
