A rat in a yellow raincoat knocks at a window. A castle promises a feast for every troll slain. Two creatures lie in the grass reading, one of them losing it laughing. A chicken wants to know if she got any likes.
The Joy Cochran Gallery is hanging comics... again!
Boston Comics Roundtable is back for their third exhibit in the Joy Cochran Gallery, with work by thirteen local cartoonists. It will be up during our Main Stage production of Annie and our 7A Black Box production of Someone Will Remember Us.
This exhibit is for readers of every age, and features amazing pages inked by hand, pages drawn digitally, and some stories that keep going after the frame ends. Purchase comic books, stickers and other great swag during our Meet the Artists reception on Sunday, November 1, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. The reception is free and open to the public. Tickets for Annie can be purchased in our Box Office.
"Like theater, comics are one of our most versatile ways of telling stories: words and pictures!" says Dan Mazur of BCR. "Art you can read, on a gallery wall, and a storytelling medium that anyone can take part in. Just pick up a pencil and start!"
So, come early. Our walls are worth it.
