Everyone has someone on their list who's impossible to shop for. This year, skip the long search and get yourself to The Holiday Art Matinee at the Joy Cochran Gallery in The Parker Room at the Footlight Club. Find something unique and handmade, chosen by you and handed to you by the artist who made it. Easy win.
"We gathered up as many of our Jamaica Plain Open Studios artists as we could for this one-day pop-up," said Matt McKee, the gallery's curator. "Many of them were set to show at the Footlight in September, until a pesky nor'easter blew JPOS 2026 away. FLC President Michael Colford and Rentals Manager Liz Bean suggested this fair as a way to give the artists some more time in the historic theater."
"This is such a great example of coming together to support our creative community," said Shelley Icaza, chair of the Footlight's Trustees committee.
Sixteen artists will be geared up with holiday gifts in a wide variety of mediums. Prices run from $5 cards and prints to one-of-a-kind statement pieces at $1,500.
Footlight Club volunteers will be on hand all day to talk about the rest of the season, the history of Eliot Hall and tales from 150 seasons of community theater. "Every time we open the doors, someone tells us they've walked past for years and never been inside," Colford said. "We'd love to show them around."
