Club Policies

Code of Conduct

We, the membership and leadership of the Footlight Club, want the Club and Eliot Hall to be a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. This is our current Code of Conduct, and it applies in the context of any Footlight Club/Eliot Hall activity or event, whether it is in the building, off-site, or on-line.

The Footlight Club reserves the right to take any action it deems necessary to enforce this policy in order to maintain a safe an inviting space for all members of the community.

Harassment

The Footlight Club has a Zero Tolerance Policy for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:

  • Stalking

  • Offensive or discriminatory verbal comments

  • Harassing or non-consensual photography or recording

  • Intimidation

  • Physical assault and/or battery

  • Sustained disruption of events

  • Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome attention

  • Inappropriate sexual advances/sexual contact/sexual assault

  • Interfering with the use of one’s bathroom of choice (bathroom policing)

The Footlight Club specifically prohibits discrimination or harassment based on the following protected characteristics, whether that characteristic is real or perceived:

  • Race

  • Ethnicity

  • Gender

  • National origin or ancestry

  • Gender identity/gender presentation

  • Sexual orientation

  • Economic status

  • Body size

  • Appearance/clothing

  • Citizenship or immigration status

  • Age

  • Disability, including mental health conditions

  • Religion

  • Pregnancy

  • Military or veteran status

Illegal Behavior

Illegal behavior is not permitted. Examples of illegal behavior include:

  • Theft

  • Illegal drug use

  • Willful destruction of property

  • Intentional misuse of any FLC property, including

    • Unauthorized use of intellectual property such as name, logo, vendor accounts, mailing lists and online/social media identity/accounts, etc

    • Unauthorized use of physical property such as tools/equipment, props, set materials, facilities, etc
